Jewellery Making Hints & Tips - Using a crimp bead
Hints & Tips - Using a crimp bead
Thread your crimp onto your wire, then thread the wire through your clasp. Thread the short end of your wire through the crimp once again, leaving a short tail.

Using your crimping or flat nose pliers, gently crush the crimp bead against the wire. Test the crimp will hold with a gentle tug; you now have two options - I often thread a large rocaille bead against the crimp bead before I start threading on my other beads, and cut the short tail after the rocaille (gives a neater finish) or you can cut flush against the crimp bead.
