Labradorite

Labradorite has an uninteresting background colour of dark grey but displays a beautiful iridescence giving off rainbow-coloured reflections known as labradorescence when light hits it in certain directions - this is quite stunning and it is one of those stones that initially can appear a bit uninteresting until it is turned this way or that, and then the colours can be magical. It is thought by some to symbolise the moon and the sun and in fact has been found to be an ingredient of moon rock. It is said to assist the wearer to handle changes, promoting strength and perseverance.
